Drayton Valley’s Zero Fee Tuition

Drayton Valley in Alberta Canada is best known for its oil production and while it was once a sparsely populated place, it all changes during the oil boom in 1953. Drayton Valley is surrounded by Brazeau County and is located on the Cowboy Trail is also known as Highway 22. It is around 83 miles southwest of Edmonton and home to the yearly DV100 Bicycle Race as well as the Alberta Junior Hockey League.

What recently dominated the news was the introduction of the Zero Fee Tuition Pilot program announced on the 13th of February 2019. The CETC or Clean Energy Technology Centre situated in Drayton Valley announced that the program starts in September of this year.

Open House on 12th of February Attended by Over 100 Individuals

The Clean Energy Technology Centre held an open house that was attended by around 150 individuals on the 12th of February. This enabled prospective teachers, parents, students and other visitors the chance to tour the Clean Energy Technology Centre. It also gave them the opportunity to learn more about the application process, the programs offered as well as meeting the recruitment specialists.

Surveys were handed out to all attendants at the open house. The completion of the survey will is an excellent way for anyone to express their concerns, responses or feedback. The survey by the Clean Energy Technology Centre is also available on their website in the hope that more will respond.

Clean Energy Technology Centre & NorQuest College offers Zero Fee Tuition.

Clean Energy Technology Centre in collaboration the NorQuest College is offering the Town of Drayton Valley Zero Fee Tuition program. The goal of the Drayton Valley Zero Fee Tuition program is to increase opportunities available to students. The Zero Fee Tuition program is also an excellent option for mature students in search of upgrading their current studies or in finding a whole new career path.

Education in Drayton Valley

There are six public schools in Drayton Valley as well as tow Catholic schools. The Wild Rose School division operates the HW Pick Up Junior High School, Frank Maddock High School, Eldorado Elementary School, Franck Maddock Outreach School, Drayton Christian School, Aurora Elementary School and the Evergreen Elementary School, while the St Thomas Aquinas Catholic School division oversees the Holy Trinity Academy and St Anthony School.

Drayton Valley Population

The population in Drayton Valley is 7,235 according to the 2016 census, and the mayor of the Drayton Valley Town Council is Michael James Doerksen. Drayton Valley falls under the municipal district of Brazeau County, and the area is 11.86 square miles in size. The Drayton Valley Omniplex Sports Centre hosts multiple sports events including rodeos, baseball, soccer, ringette, ice hockey and curling. The town also features both a country club and golf club as well as a public swimming pool.
